Sapphire ring stolen during real estate open house

A jewelry theft is alleged to have happened during a real estate open house over the weekend.

According to the Nanaimo RCMP, a woman’s ring was stolen Sunday from a home in the 400 block of Gulfview Drive.

The woman had taken off the ring and set it down next to the sink to do dishes. She then left the residence while the landlords held an open house and showed the home to six couples. When the woman returned, the ring was gone.

The yellow gold ring is set with a high-quality sapphire encircled by small diamonds.
