The three occupants of an SUV were taken to hospital after their vehicle went off the road and rolled over Friday (Sept. 8).
The accident happened shortly after 10 a.m. on the Duke Point Highway’s southbound off-ramp onto the Island Highway just south of Nanaimo.
Emergency crews at the scene said the man, woman and infant in the vehicle appeared to have suffered minor injuries and that the accident was likely due to slippery conditions on wet pavement caused by the first substantial rainfall in several weeks.
Nanaimo RCMP are investigating the crash.
