Robbery suspect returned to jail

NANAIMO – Police arrest man suspected of multiple break and enters in north Nanaimo.

Police have arrested a man they suspect has been involved in multiple break-ins in Nanaimo’s north Jingle Pot Road area.

The 48-year-old suspect, who lives in the area of north Jingle Pot, was arrested Tuesday at about 11 a.m. by Nanaimo RCMP’s Street Crimes Unit on a warrant issued from Surrey RCMP detachment for breach of a conditional sentence order.

The suspect has been returned to jail and will be required to serve out the remainder of his original sentence.

“This individual and several others are considered persons of interest in connection with these break-ins,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman. “The investigations are continuing and if sufficient evident is found, charges will be laid.”
