Rightful owners of money found on Nanaimo street sought

Money found in Labieux Road area in late February, says Nanaimo RCMP

The rightful owners of money, found on a Nanaimo street last month, can claim their currency from police in Nanaimo.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the money, between $50 and $300, was found in late February by a man on an early morning walk, “lying loose on a street” in the Labieux Road area.

The man immediately contacted the police who seized the money for safekeeping, the press release noted.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, citing file No. 2023-6466.
