An express bus has now been running between Nanaimo and Duncan for a full year, and riders of the route are being asked for feedback.

B.C. Transit, the Regional District of Nanaimo and the Cowichan Valley Regional District launched Route 70 NCX Nanaimo-Cowichan Express at the end of March last year. Now, operators are asking for input about travel times, bus stops and possible expansion “that will help fine-tune the service,” stated a press release.

Buses run Monday to Saturday, beginning at downtown Nanaimo and travelling to Village Green mall in Duncan.

In December, citing ridership from late summer and early fall, B.C. Transit said the route saw average daily boardings of 89 passengers on weekdays and 84 on Saturdays, up from 50 rides per day when the express bus first launched.

The survey is open until April 17 and can be found at http://engage.bctransit.com/ncx2023. Paper copies are also available at numerous locations, including at the RDN administration and transportation office (6300 Hammond Bay Rd., Nanaimo) and CVRD head office (175 Ingram St., Duncan).
