Radio society seeks public input

The Gabriola Radio Society is hosting a community information meeting as part of its quest for FM channel 98.7.

The Gabriola Radio Society is hosting a community information meeting as part of its quest for FM channel 98.7.

The society has submitted an application to Industry Canada to erect a radio communication tower on a property on Chernoff Drive, and is required to consult with the Islands Trust Gabriola Island committee on land use.

As part of the process the society is hosting a meeting Monday (June 25) from 5-9 p.m. at the Gabriola Community Hall, 2200 South Rd., to hear from the public.

Feedback received will assist the Islands Trust committee in developing a response to the society and Industry Canada regarding community support for the proposed tower.
