Premier Christy Clark is in Nanaimo Wednesday (Aug. 22) for a women’s townhall meeting at the Port Theatre.
The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce is co-ordinating the invitation-only event, described as an “opportunity to meet with the premier and discuss the future of British Columbia with issues and topics directed by the women in attendance.”
Mike Morton, Clark’s press secretary, said she has hosted about a dozen women-only meetings across the province since June.
He said the meeting begins with a brief introduction followed by about an hour of open discussion and there is no set agenda – the idea is to hear from women about issues that are important to them.
Another women’s town hall meeting will take place later in the day in Parksville.
