Police trying to identify break-and-enter suspect

Police need help to identify suspect of a break and enter and assault in June.

Nanaimo RCMP are asking the public for help to identify a male suspect who entered a ground-floor apartment and assaulted the female occupant.

The incident happened June 20 at about 11 a.m. when a man came through the apartment's balcony window.

The apartment dweller told him to leave and was escorting him to the door when the suspect pulled her shorts down. The victim was able to push him out the door and then called police.

Police attended immediately, but were unable to find the suspect, described as in his 30's with thin brown/grey hair. He was wearing a black windbreaker and jeans and he had a scar on his right cheek.
