Two male suspects, ages 42 and 19, were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking on Wednesday.

Police also seized nine spitballs totalling 5.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 20 spitballs totalling 9.5 grams of suspected cocaine and 15 spitballs totalling 3.6 grams of suspected heroin. RCMP also recovered 12 spitballs totalling 3.4 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl.

Both suspects were released on promises to appear in Nanaimo provincial court at a later date.

On Thursday a man was observed to be conducting what police believed to be a drug transaction. The suspect, who is one of the males arrested Wednesday, was arrested again and a quantity of Canadian currency was seized. The 19-year-old suspect remains in police custody to await a court hearing.
