It’s been about three months since Carmel Georgina Gilmour went missing and Oceanside RCMP is continuing to investigate her disappearance.
In a news release on Tuesday, Feb. 27, Oceanside RCMP said all tips and information have been “thoroughly investigated” by police, but Gilmour remains unaccounted for.
Gilmour is described as Caucasian, with short brown hair, hazel eyes, 5-foot-6 tall, with a medium build.
Cpl. Jesse Foreman, Oceanside RCMP spokesperson, said police have been in contact with Gilmour’s family.

The 36-year-old woman of no fixed address was last seen in Parksville Nov. 15, 2017, driving her van, according to a Nov. 22 release from the RCMP.
On Nov. 21, a Qualicum Beach resident reported a “suspicious abandoned van” that turned out to be the van Gilmour was last seen in. The investigation, as of Nov. 24, showed that Gilmour’s van was in the area of Little Mountain Road on Nov. 14.
Foreman said as far as the RCMP is aware, Gilmour doesn’t have ties to other communities.
“As far as we’re concerned, she spent most of her time in the Oceanside area.”
Despite the initial report of Gilmour’s vehicle, Foreman said there haven’t been many tips from the community relating to Gilmour’s disappearance.
