Two people were injured and northbound traffic brought to a halt after a pickup truck rolled over on the Nanaimo Parkway shortly before noon Friday.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes about 300 metres south of the Northfield Road intersection when a northbound Ford pickup veered off the right side of the highway, drove in the ditch for about 300 metres, pulled back onto the roadway and then rolled over and came to rest on its side in the traffic lanes.
The male driver of the truck was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with unspecified injuries.
A passing motorist was also treated for a cut on his ankle he received while attempting to pull the truck's driver from his vehicle.
Nanaimo RCMP are looking into what caused the crash.
Northbound Nanaimo Parkway traffic was brought to a standstill for more than 30 minutes while the wreck was cleared.
