Parcel stolen from front porch, Nanaimo RCMP looking for suspect

Unidentified woman allegedly stole package containing $400 smart watch

Police are investigating after a parcel containing a $400 electronic device was stolen from the front porch of a Nanaimo home.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the theft happened May 13 at about 11 a.m. on from the doorstep of a home in the 2500 block of Highland Boulevard.

The package, which contained a Samsung Galaxy Smart watch, was stolen just minutes after being delivered. Investigators reviewed video surveillance that showed an unidentified woman walking up to the front step and then casually walking away with the parcel.

The suspect is caucasian, 30-40 years old, heavy-set with brown hair tied on top.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
