A pair of leaf blowers were stolen from a work truck earlier this month in what Nanaimo RCMP are calling a “crime of opportunity.”

According to a press release, the incident occurred at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 9, when the truck was parked in front of the Shoppers Drug Mart on Mary Ellen Drive. Two men dressed in black were seen approaching the vehicle shortly after it was parked, according to witness accounts.

“Sadly, anything of value needs to be either placed out of sight or locked up,” noted RCMP in the release.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency number at 250-754-2345, citing file No. 2021-45478.
