The Department of National Defence is advising Nanaimo residents that a night firing exercise will be carried out at the Nanaimo Military Rifle Range Saturday (Jan. 9) from 6 p.m. to midnight.
The exercise is for small arms training and night firing familiarization.
Nanaimo Military Rifle Range is located at the end of Lincoln Road, off of Nanaimo Lakes Road, in south Nanaimo.
The public is reminded trespassing into the area is prohibited.
In the unlikely event stray ammunition or explosive objects are encountered, do not pick up or keep objects as souvenirs and notify police immediately to arrange for disposal.
