The Nanaimo News Bulletin is an award finalist for Newspaper Excellence in its circulation category in the provincial community newspapers association.
The B.C. and Yukon Community Newspapers Association announced the finalists for its annual Ma Murray Awards, which recognize the best writing, photography and ad design in the province during the past year.
News Bulletin photographer Chris Bush is also a finalist for Spot News Photo Award (over 25,000) for his photo of a fatal boating incident on Westwood Lake.
The awards will be handed out during the association's annual conference in Richmond on April 25.
