UPDATE: Nanaimo woman who was missing has been found safe and sound

UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP say the 55-year-old woman reported missing Feb. 7 has been located and is safe and sound.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: The Nanaimo RCMP has turned to the public for help to find a woman who missed an “urgent” medical appointment.

Michelle Van der Kemp, 55, missed an appointment at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on Monday, Feb. 7, and has not been seen or heard from since, according to a Nanaimo RCMP press release. Police say her health care providers are extremely concerned for her safety and well-being.

Van der Kemp is white, 5-foot-6, with a thin build, long brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency number at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2022-4385.
