UPDATE: RCMP report Nanaimo woman has been found safe and sound

UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP have advised that the 28-year-old woman reported missing Monday, Feb. 20, has been found safe.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s help to find a woman who may have suffered a serious injury and is now considered missing.

Police issued a press release Tuesday, Feb. 21, noting that a 28-year-old woman has has not been seen nor heard from since Monday Feb. 20.

According to the release, around midnight on Monday, police were alerted that the woman may have suffered a serious injury. Police did not provide information about the nature of her possible injury.

Officers checked at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and took additional “investigative steps,” but were unsuccessful in locating the woman.

”Given that she cannot be located, there is significant concern for her safety and well-being,” noted the release.

The Indigenous woman is described as 5-foot-5, 190 pounds, with long brown-blonde hair and brown eyes. Anyone who has information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
