A suspect in a vehicle break-in ended up with less than he started with.

A suspect was nearly collared by the vehicle’s owner in an incident last week in Extension. According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, a homeowner on Flagstone Road caught a man trying to break into his parked car at about 7 a.m. Wednesday. The homeowner grabbed the suspect by the back of his jacket, but the suspect managed to slip out of it and took off running minus his coat.

The suspect is white, had a medium build and, prior to encountering the homeowner, was wearing a dark-coloured jacket.
