Nanaimo RCMP seize vehicle allegedly connected to hit-and-run that injured woman and her dogs

Nanaimo RCMP have seized a vehicle in connection with an ongoing hit-and-run investigation that resulted in a woman being sent to hospital with significant injuries.

The woman’s dogs were also injured in the incident, which happened the afternoon of March 4 on Lorenzen Lane, located at the end of Superior Road in Lantzville.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the investigation led officers with the Nanaimo RCMP traffic unit to a home in Lantzville where a vehicle was seized for a forensic investigation. The owner of the vehicle was identified and provided a statement to investigators.

“The victim was notified of these developments and is grateful that the investigation is moving forward,” said reserve Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, in the press release. “Police are also confident in saying that there are others in the community who have knowledge of this incident, but for unknown reasons, they have not come forward. At this time no charges have been laid.”
