Nanaimo RCMP are looking to identify two people who might be able to help with the investigation of a break-and-enter of a shop that deals in jewelry, precious metals and currency.

Gold Silver Guy’s Townsite Road location was broken into sometime overnight on Jan. 21, according to an RCMP press release.

The business owner told police he arrived in the morning and discovered a rear door had been forced open and interior drywall had been knocked out, with thieves getting inside the building and taking a number of expensive items from a safe.

Investigators recently received security camera footage and are trying to identify two persons of interest whose images were captured on video.

“Investigators are certain the individuals shown in the have knowledge that can assist in this investigation,” said reserve Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman. “These two need to be identified and spoken with.”

Anyone who has information about the identities of the two people is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2023-2364.
