Nanaimo RCMP seek owner of found bicycle

Norco VFR bike turned over to police after it was found in yard on Bowen Road

Police in Nanaimo hope the owner of a found Norco bike will claim it.

According to police, the white Norco bicycle was found in a yard in the 600 block of Bowen Road on Thursday and the person who found it said the bike had been in their yard for at least five days.

The bike is in excellent condition and is described as a Norco VFR hybrid with 24 speeds. It was covered in dust, which led the investigator to believe the bike had most likely been kept in a shed and the owner may not even realize the bike has been stolen. The serial number was checked and it had not been reported as stolen.

Anyone with information about the ownership of the bike or where it was taken from is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com or call 1-800-222-8477.
