Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help to find a young woman who may be hiding from her family.

According to police, Kelsie Boutilier has not been seen by her family since July 7.

“Kelsie’s support network believes she is hiding from her family because she is under the impression that the Nanaimo RCMP will arrest her. This is simply not true. We want to assure Kelsie and her friends that she is not in trouble and that she will not be arrested,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, in the press release. “We just want her to touch base with her family to let them know she is safe.”

The press release notes that there were reports that Boutilier was seen at Discontent City, but officers have been unable to locate her there.

She requires daily medication that she hasn’t been taking, the press release notes.

Boutilier is Caucasian, 5-foot-6, 105 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. She has ear-stretching plugs and a piercing near her right eye. She was last seen wearing shorts and a black hoodie.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or submitting a tip online at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com.
