The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s help to find a suspect wanted for break and enter.

The warrant was issued after investigators were unable to locate 37-year-old Bryan Highet.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 17, the suspect was allegedly witnessed driving a vehicle onto a construction site on Gulfview Drive, according to an RCMP press release. The witness told investigators the property in question was under construction and there was a shipping container on the site which contained construction tools and equipment. It is alleged Highet removed several items from the container, including a Honda generator and a chainsaw.

The witness was able to positively identify the accused and in late September one charge of break and enter was sworn and a warrant was issued for Highet’s arrest.

Highet is Caucasian, six feet tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
