Nanaimo Mounties are following up on a report of a man seen masturbating in a parked vehicle in Harewood.
A 15-year-old girl told police she was skateboarding home Friday at about 2:20 p.m. after meeting friends at John Barsby Secondary School.
As she passed the bus stop at Sixth Street and Bruce Avenue, she saw a car parked on the side of the road on facing south on Bruce Avenue with a man sitting in the drivers seat. When she glanced in the car, she saw the man masturbating.
The girl did not have a cellphone with her, so she carried on home and called police.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his mid 20s and wearing a hat and aviator glasses.
Const. Gary O'Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, said police believe the incident is unrelated to another complaint of a man seen masturbating near Westwood Lake Park Aug. 26.
