Police are asking for public assistance in locating a man who hasn’t been seen or heard from in nearly two weeks.

Nanaimo RCMP advised Monday that George Gerald Pennicard, 28, has been reported missing.

“Pennicard is known to frequent the New Hope Centre in Nanaimo and tent city,” noted a police press release. “For him to have no contact with his circle of friends is out of character for him, and for this reason his support network is extremely concerned for his personal safety and well-being.”

Pennicard is Caucasian, 5-foot-5, 130 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a red and black jacket and a baseball cap when he was last seen.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 or contact Crime Stoppers at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com or 1-800-222-8477.
