Nanaimo RCMP arrest man for naked iPhone pictures

NANAIMO – Man arrested for leaving iPhone in public places displaying picture of himself naked.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested for several incidents in May and June when he allegedly displayed pictures of himself naked on a cellphone, which he left in public areas to be found by young women.

According to Nanaimo RCMP, the suspect was arrested by without incident July 15 at his home in north Nanaimo. Charges have not been formally laid, but police have recommended four counts of indecent exposure.

In three incidents the suspect allegedly displayed naked pictures of himself on a cellphone then placed it public places. The fourth charge relates to a naked picture of him being sent to local Internet group for mothers.

The suspect has been released on a promise to appear at Nanaimo provincial court on Oct. 13.

One of his release conditions is that he cannot possess a cellphone.
