Nanaimo RCMP arrest assault suspect

NANAIMO – Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting a woman in her home on Nov. 14.

Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting a woman in her home on Saturday.

According to Nanaimo RCMP, Chas Trevor Thomas, 37, has been formally charged with assault causing bodily harm.

He is alleged to have had an altercation with a 32-year-old female, who is said to have sustained significant bruising. In a press release, police say she did not require hospitalization and is recovering with assistance from family and friends.

Thomas appeared in Nanaimo provincial court this afternoon and remains in custody.
