Nanaimo police seek help with hit and run

NANAIMO - Mounties looking for witnesses to hit and run that seriously injured a pedestrian.

The Nanaimo RCMP hope to talk to anyone who might have witnessed a hit-and-run accident that sent a man to hospital with significant injuries.

The incident occurred at 10:45 p.m. on April 27 at Terminal Avenue at St. George Crescent when two pedestrians were struck while crossing at an marked crosswalk.

According to police, a 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were walking westbound on Terminal Avenue at the crosswalk, when a northbound vehicle failed to yield and struck them both, but only the male victim was injured and required hospitalization.

The suspect vehicle is a dark sedan or coupe. No license plate or description of the driver was obtained.
