Nanaimo police have issued a photo of the suspect of an unsolved armed robbery to hopefully generate leads from the public.

The Co-op gas bar at Brooks Landing was robbed Jan. 1 at about 8 p.m. when the male entered the business and demanded the clerk hand over money from the till.

The image shows the suspect holding a black pistol in his right hand.

A small amount of cash was taken and the suspect ran out the exit door and was last seen running east toward Departure Bay Road.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, about 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds. He wore a grey hoodie, dark sunglasses and a balaclava concealing most of his lower face.
