NANAIMO – Police search on Pine Street nets assault rifles, stolen property, cash, drugs and a suspect.

A search by Nanaimo RCMP’s Street Crimes Unit on Tuesday turned up multiple suspected stolen items from a shed located in the 200 block of Pine Street, plus cash, drugs and Russian military training rifles.

Among the inventory of seized items were Soviet SKS Tula semi-automatic assault rifles, a scooter valued at $3,000, numerous bikes worth close to $15,000, plus various quantities of heroin, marijuana, cocaine and crystal methamphetamine.

Investigators are in the process of contacting the owners of the property.
