Police in Nanaimo are asking for the public's help to identify suspect of two armed robberies in August.

Police in Nanaimo are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect believed responsible for two armed robberies Aug. 13.

The first robbery occurred at 2:40 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at Terminal Avenue and Townsite Road when a man wearing a wig and holding a large knife demanded cash from the clerk and then fled. The second robbery occurred at 10:52 p.m. the same day at the Northfield Road Esso gas station when a man wearing a wig walked in brandishing a knife, demanded cash and fled.

In the 7-Eleven incident, the suspect wore a red Hurley T-shirt, baggy grey sweatpants and grey/black shoes with white laces. No tattoos were visible on his arms.

In the Northfield Road Esso robbery, the suspect wore a dark coloured ball cap, light grey hoodie and dark pants.
