UPDATE: A man who didn’t come home from work this week was found dead.

Nanaimo RCMP say a 32-year-old who was missing was found by people walking along a beach north of Nanaimo on Thursday, Jan. 20.

Police and the B.C. Coroners Service were called and the man was identified. Next of kin have been notified and while foul play is not suspected, the coroner continues with its investigation, the press release said.

No further information will be released, Nanaimo RCMP said.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Police are asking people to be on the lookout for a 32-year-old man who failed to return to his home in north Nanaimo Tuesday.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, friends and family are extremely concerned for the man’s safety and well-being after he didn’t come home after work on Jan. 18.

He is described as standing 5-feet-9 and weighing 144 pounds. While there was no description of what he may have been wearing, he is believed to be carrying a green checkered backpack, the press release said.
