Mounties are looking for Alexander Ray Trinkwon

A man who escaped from the Nanaimo RCMP detachment last week is still missing.

Alexander Ray Trinkwon, 25, fled from police Dec. 23, triggering a police search that failed to find him. He was scheduled to appear in Nanaimo provincial court the following day to face charges for breaking and entering, possession of stolen property and possession of break-in tools.

A police dog lost Trinkwon's trail near Bowen Road and the Buttertubs March area and he has not been seen since.

"We still believe he's in Nanaimo, though," RCMP Staff Sgt. Carl Vinet said Monday.

Trinkwon was last seen wearing blue jeans, T-shirt and socks, but no shoes.

Anyone who knows of Trinkwon's whereabouts, please call the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com.
