Environment Canada ends snowfall warning

Nanaimo again woke up to fresh snow on Thursday, Dec. 30.

More snow fell on top of an already snow-covered city as winter continues to wallop Nanaimo.

Environment Canada has ended its snowfall warning and the forecast for the rest of the day is a mix of sun and cloud with a chance of flurries. The forecast for Friday, Dec. 31, is mainly sunny with flurries at night time.

Thursday’s high is -1 C with a low of -5 C, and Friday’s temperature is expected to hover around -2 all day.

The weekend could bring temperatures above zero and rain is possible Saturday night and expected Sunday during the day.

The City of Nanaimo cancelled waste collection for Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 29-30, and weather depending, will try to pick up curbside waste over this coming weekend.
