The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s help to locate a man who hasn’t been in contact with his family for a month and a half.

Family of 34-year-old Matthew Santoro last heard from him on May 21, and as a result they are concerned for his safety and well-being, according to a Nanaimo RCMP press release.

Santoro’s disappearance was reported to the Nanaimo RCMP on June 29. Although investigators have carried out extensive patrols throughout Nanaimo, they have been unable to locate Santoro, noted the release.

Investigators are also following up on information received that Santoro may be in the Lower Mainland.

Santoro is white, 5-foot-7, 160 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who has information on Santoro’s whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2021-23871.
