UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP have reported the 15-year-0ld girl reported missing, Friday, March 4, has been found safe and sound.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Police in Nanaimo are asking for the public’s help to find a 15-year-old girl who was last seen walking into the ferry terminal at Horseshoe Bay.

Ava Brown, of Nanaimo, was reported missing Friday, March 4, and was last seen in the late afternoon that day at Horseshoe Bay. Base on information police have received to date, it is believed Brown arrived at Departure Bay, but may have left with an unknown person.

An extensive search for her by investigators included reviewing video surveillance footage at Departure Bay ferry terminal, but efforts to find her have not been successful and, given Brown’s age, her family and caregivers are extremely worried about her safety and well-being.

Brown is 5-foot-6, 115 pounds and has black hair with auburn roots, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a cream-coloured hoodie, Air Force 1 sneakers and had her hair tied in a bun. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2022-7585.
