Paul Manly was voted in as candidate for the Green Party in the Nanaimo-Ladysmith riding at a meeting attended by more than 250 people at Beban Park social centre Monday.
Elizabeth May, federal Green Party leader, who attended the meeting, pledged to Manly would be expected to answer to his constituents first, not to her as leader.
