Malaspina Choir carries on a Christmas tradition with its Sing-Along Messiah performance this coming weekend.

It’s been three years since the choir has performed Handel’s “beloved masterwork” in full, noted an event press release, but this year, the 70-plus-member choir looks forward to singing with audience members at “one of the festive season’s most popular choral events.”

The show is Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church, 311 Fitzwilliam St.

Artistic director Fiona Blackburn will lead the performance, which will feature vocalists Eve-Lyn de la Haye, Erin Lawson, Adam Schmidt and Nathan McDonald performing the solos and members of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra providing accompaniment.

“So come sing along, whether you like to chant, croon, warble or trill or, if you prefer, listen to the wonderful surround sound of the voices next to you in the pews,” noted the release.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youths 25 and under, and free for children under 12. Tickets are available at the Port Theatre box office at 250-754-8550 or online at www.porttheatre.com.

Masks are recommended. Donations to the Wisteria Community Association’s Stone Soup program. will be accepted at the show.
