Lantzville councillors now have a little bit more wiggle room when it comes to per-day travel allowance.
On Monday, District of Lantzville councillors approved a bylaw that gives councillors a $15 increase on the amount they are allowed to spend per-day on things such as meals and incidentals, such as taxis or public transportation fares.
Lantzville councillors will now be given a per diem of $80 as a basic travel allowance, which includes a maximum of $15 for breakfast, $20 for lunch, $35 for dinner and $10 for incidentals. The previous per diem rate was $65.
Councillors John Coulson and Dot Neary and Mayor Colin Haime voted against the increase.
