Ladysmith RCMP are investigating after an armed robbery at the Timberlands Pub Liquor Store over the weekend that last only about a minute.

A large male walked into the store at 1680 Timberlands Road shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday

“Once in the store the male produced a handgun and demanded that the clerk give him all of the money in the till,” said Cpl. Bob Purslow.

The male proceeded to open his backpack and the clerk emptied the money from the till.

“The male then helped himself and reached over the counter to the cigarette stand at which point he began shoving packages of cigarettes into his bag,” Purslow added.

The male then fled the store on foot and out of sight toward Timberlands Road.

RCMP suspect the male stole a large sum of cash, all bills, and approximately 60 packages of cigarettes.

He is described as Caucasian, 6”4’, 230-240 lbs, wearing a blue zip up hoody, black ball cap, black balaclava, black jeans, black backpack and yellow work gloves. His voice was described by the clerk as “soft” and eyes that are possibly blue or light in colour.
