Vancouver Island continues to be recognized as a premier vacation destination, with Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice awarding the area the No. 1 island in Canada.
Record numbers of 79,268 readers, almost double the number of participants in 2012, took part in the annual survey and other Vancouver Island destinations were rated among the best. The Gulf Islands were named No. 3 islands in Canada, and the province’s capital city of Victoria was named the No. 3 city in Canada.
The travel magazine has been conducting a Readers’ Choice award program since 1988 and the Island has remained among the top islands since 2000.
