Nanaimo’s students got a look at the kinds of skills they might need for B.C.’s future labour market this week.

Work B.C.’s Find Your Fit, an interactive event currently touring the Island so students can learn about the skills they need for future jobs, came to the Island Connected School gym on Jingle Pot Road Tuesday.

About 1,100 students were introduced to the province’s upcoming career opportunities and ways to plan and prepare for their careers with career planning programs and videos.

Find Your Fit is part of B.C.’s Skills for Jobs Blueprint initiative to re-engineer education and guide youth to deliver the skilled work force needed to fill jobs in the province’s evolving economy.
