Health key topic at annual women's show

NANAIMO – Women can check out the offerings of this year's West Coast Women's Show March 1-2 at Beban Park.

From fashion to food – it’s all about ladies at next weekend’s 15th annual West Coast Women’s Show.

The two-day women’s show launches Saturday (March 1) at Beban Park, with a spring fashion show, store booths and seminars.

The keynote speaker this year will be Lorna Vanderhaeghe, who will focus her talk on feeling great at any age.

Other sponsored seminars will be Dr. John Yim, a naturopathic doctor from Nanaimo who will talk about managing moods, and Rose Marie Pierce, holistic pharmacist on going gluten-free with the help of super foods.

“I am very excited about the upcoming show as we celebrate our 15th year,” said Trish Newton Segal, event organizer. “I think it is very important to create a safe place to discuss and learn.”

The women’s show will have products on display from gifts and jewelry to beauty products, fashion and home decor.

Food will be provided by Coastal Creations Cuisine and there will be a Joseph Ribkoff Trunk Show at KC’s Boutique booth, Saturday only.

This year’s grand prize draw will be a weekend escape for two, including two nights accommodation at deluxe one bedroom suite at the Old House Village and Spa in Courtenay.

The show will take place Saturday and Sunday (March 1- 2) at Beban Park Social Centre. Admission is $6 for adults or $10 for a two-day pass. Seniors and students are $4 and children 12 and under are free.

The first 200 women who arrive each day will receive a flower from Turley’s Florist.
