Thrill-seeking adventurers will be able to glide over Sway’ A’ Lana Lagoon in downtown Nanaimo again, as early as this weekend.

According to a release by WildPlay Element Parks, the downtown zipline at Maffeo Sutton Park will be operational starting Sunday, June 11. The first ride will be free for all guests on opening day, with subsequent rides priced at $8, from noon-6 p.m.

“We have been eagerly anticipating the return of the Harbour Zipline,” said Tom Benson, CEO of WildPlay Element Parks, in the release. “The zipline is designed to thrill locals and visitors alike, and be a great new adventure in the heart of Nanaimo.”

The zipline will be open to people seven years and older with a maximum weight of 300 pounds (136 kg), and is accessible for all physical fitness and comfort levels.

Beyond this Sunday, the ride will be open on major event days throughout the summer, as well as select weekends in July, according to WildPlay’s website.

The Harbour Zipline is an experience that “embodies the spirit of adventure and showcases the remarkable beauty” of the city’s harbour, noted the release.
