Hall of famer talks leadership

NANAIMO - Educational simulcast event gives insight into good leadership.

People looking for insight on how to become better leaders can get a few tips during an upcoming educational event.

Express Employment Professionals of Nanaimo is hosting a Refresh Leadership simulcast, a nationwide educational event to help people understand the principles of leadership. It features a lineup of speakers including Terry Bradshaw, a pro football Hall of Fame member and co-host of Fox NFL Sunday; best-selling author Guy Kawasaki; and Amanda Gore, a workplace communication and performance expert.

“We know poor leadership is the No. 1 reason why people leave companies so we’re offering support to businesses with a focused day of learning about great leadership,” said Melodi Wood, Nanaimo Express owner.

Kawasaki will discuss how to influence people’s hearts, minds and actions to create change. Bradshaw will share his strategies for success through persistence and self-improvement. Gore discusses the importance of leaders and the impact they have on organizations.

The simulcast is set for April 17 and will be broadcast at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the event begins at 9 a.m. People can also register at www.refreshleadership.ca/live for a fee of $25.
