Half-million lotto prize goes to man from Qualicum area

David Le Blanc wins cash off Extra on Lotto 6/49 ticket

A man from the Qualicum Beach area has some ideas for what to do with his newly won half-million dollars.

David Le Blanc won $500,000 off the Extra on a winning Lotto 6/49 ticket from the February 10, 2018 draw, according to a news release from the B.C. Lottery Corporation.

He bought the winning ticket at Mid-Island Co-op Whiskey Creek on the Alberni Highway.

“A celebration dinner with my family is definitely in order,” said Le Blanc according to the release. “I know it sounds cliché, but I’m not sure what to do next as I’m still in shock.”

After some time to think, however, Le Blanc had a few ideas.

“I plan to put some money in savings and plan a little vacation but most importantly of all, I really want to help all my kids,” he said.
