Inventory shortages and shipping delays aren’t a problem for a non-profit business in Nanaimo this year.
Merchandise from around the world has arrived on time at Global Village Nanaimo’s short-term fair trade store to support fair trade artisans and bring their products to the central Island.
Global Village Nanaimo volunteers have opened short-term fair trade stores in what is now a 25-year tradition. This year, the non-profit has partnered with furniture retailer Teak Tree to use its Fitzwilliam Street premises. Teak Tree has operated from the site at the corner of Fitzwilliam and Selby streets since 2004 and returns in January – a win-win arrangement for both companies, noted a Global Village Nanaimo press release.
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday until Dec. 24.
Global Village Nanaimo’s online store is also fully stocked with fair trade treasures which can be either delivered or shipped anywhere in Canada. For more information, visit www.globalvillagenanaimo.com.
