Police have four men in custody and the rightful owners reunited with their stolen TV set following a home invasion early Sunday.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. when two men, with their shirts covering their faces, broke into a home in the 600 block of Sterling Avenue.
A 24-year-old woman inside was shoved to the ground when she tried to stop the intruders from making off with a TV.
The men jumped into a pickup with two other men already in the vehicle and sped off.
A man, 50, and male friend, 42, called police and chased the pickup in another vehicle until they lost sight of it near Fifth Street.
The men gave police the truck's licence plate number and RCMP tracked its owner to a home on Glen Crescent.
Based on descriptions of the men given by the victims, police arrested two men at the residence and two other men who were leaving in a taxi.
Police also found the stolen TV in an alley near the home on Glen Crescent.
All four suspects, ages 36, 23, 20 and 19, were scheduled to appear in Nanaimo provincial court Monday to face recommended charges of robbery and breaking and entering.
No one was injured in the incident.
Const. Gary O'Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, said the home invasion appears to be a targeted and there was no danger to the public.
"Police are looking into the possibility of a prior relationship between the parties involved," O'Brien said.
