Nanaimo RCMP hope to follow the footprints to try to solve a break-and-enter that happened in Harewood last week.

A home under renovation in the 100 block of Wakesiah Avenue was broken into sometime between 4 p.m. on Jan. 15 and noon on Jan. 16, according to a police press release.

The suspect went around to the back of the house, leaving footprints, before climbing inside through a bathroom window.

“In doing so, the suspect left an excellent muddy footprint in the bathtub which was examined by attending forensic officers,” noted the release.

Work tools were stolen from the house.
