No one injured in late-night blaze on Doric Avenue; cause under investigation

Nanaimo Fire Rescue is investigating a fire that destroyed a garage Tuesday.

Firefighters responded just before 11:30 p.m. to a blaze in the 100 block of Doric Avenue.

“It was a fully involved, detached garage/shed,” said Alan Millbank, Nanaimo Fire Rescue fire prevention officer, in an e-mail. “No injuries, but the building and contents are a write-off.”

The cause of the fire was undetermined as of Wednesday morning, May 20, and is under investigation.
